What Was Emmeline Hobby

Emmeline Hobby was an American social activist and women’s suffrage leader. She was born in 1858 in Chillicothe, Ohio, and became involved in the women’s suffrage movement in the early 1890s. Hobby served as the president of the Ohio Woman Suffrage Association from 1895 to 1898, and she later helped to found the National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA). Hobby was also active in the women’s club movement, and she served as the president of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs from 1911 to 1914. She died in 1931.
